How to Make Money Online - Road to Financial Freedom

Let’s be real, we all want to know how to make money online. Or maybe even how to make easy money online. Or perhaps even how to make money on the side from home… Like $500 or so to contribute to your rent or mortgage… Isn’t the dream to learn how to make money remotely so you have more control over your life and time? Perhaps you really just want to supplement your current income so that you actively can take steps to financial freedom.

I guess that is what we all are aiming for: achieving financial freedom, so that we can live the lives we want to live.

There are a few different ways to financial freedom. You may have heard about Dave Ramsey, a businessman and best selling author who’ve published many books about achieving financial freedom. One of the books he’s published is called: The Financial Peace Planner: A Step-by-Step Guide to Restoring Your Family’s Financial Health. It covers many topics but here are a few things this book will help you do:

Assess the urgency of your situation
Understand where your money’s going
Create a realistic budget
Dump your debt
Clean up your credit rating

In addition to Dave Ramsey, you may also have heard of Tony Robbins; MONEY Master the Game: 7 Simple Steps to Financial Freedom. This book, just like Dave Ramsey’s, helps you navigate your way to financial freedom.

If you want Money Freedom, you actually don’t have to run an online business as there are many different ways to make money online. Before we dig into a few ways, let me show you something… I used Google Ads keyword tool to look up the types of search queries people made in June (2019) related to making money online. 453,170 times, in the US only, did people enter search terms into Google related to money making online. The most searched terms were:

how to make money online
how to make money from home
how to make money online for free
how to make money fast online

Legitimate ways to make money online

Let’s get to the meat of this article. What are some actual ways to make money online. First off, just like with anything else, it requires hard work, skills and patience. Here are a few ways that have proven to work:

Blogging

As much as you hate the thought of writing articles, you can actually make a solid buck doing it. My personal opinion is that you need to write about something you have interest in. I could care less about how to fix cars so i would therefore not blog about how to fix cars. I love health and fitness, so that would make sense for me to write about. I also enjoy making money (who doesn’t? lol), so here I am writing a blog about making money online. The more interest you have in a topic, the easier it will be for you to write. I think another reason why people are hesitant to start a blog is because they’re afraid they’ll be judged. That’s ALL the way rue, for me as well. But, in the end of the day, who cares if i’m not a best-selling author. I write because i want to and i know (sorta) that people will be able to relate. So how do you monetize a blog? Here are a few ways:

Google Adsense. Implement a code on your website and google will handle the rest. you’ll get access to a dashboard and you’ll be able to start earning on day one. The challenge with this approach is that in order for you to make money, your website needs a lot of traffic. I do use Google Adsense, but only in one place of this website.
Private display ads. If you have a high quality audience, then this is a great opportunity for you to approach potential brands and sell advertising slots to the brands directly. This can be done on a Cost-per-thousand impressions, cost-per-click, OR a fixed cost for a specific time period.

Affiliate Marketing

This is a great approach to make money online. specifically if you like blogging…. sort of goes hand in hand with blogging. A lot of people wiht an online presence use affiliate marketing, even influencers use this when they post stories/posts on instagram. They usually include a (transparent) link that says “ad link”. How this works is super simple, you make money every time users on your website buy something after clicking a link to a product/service you had on your website. So for example, let’s say i was writing an article about how to achieve success. In my article i would recommend this book: The Formula: The Universal Laws of Success. As you can see, it’s a hyperlink. If the user clicks the link and makes a purchase, you (the website owner) will get a % cut. Depending on the affiliate program you’re using and products you are promoting, the % you get will vary. Important to note: you do not need to have a website to earn commissions. All you need to do is to get people to click the link you provide them. This can be done on social media as well. My link that i just shared is through Amazon’s Affiliate Program. I also use Click Bank. I don’t get any referral fees for sharing the websites i use so definitely click through if you want to read up on the various platforms.

Online Surveys

If you have a lot of time on your hands, you can make money by completing surveys online. Not really something i am into but hey, maybe you are. According to SaveTheStudent.org, the best paid online survey websites are:
